DES School Counselor
As the School Counselor at Defeated Elementary School, I am committed to supporting the academic, social/emotional, and career development of every student. I provide weekly classroom guidance lessons aligned with the Tennessee School Counselor Standards and the ASCA National Model, facilitate small group and individual counseling sessions, and teach career readiness classes to help students build the knowledge and skills needed for future success.
About Me
My name is Lindsey Angel-Hackett, and I am honored to serve as the School Counselor at Defeated Elementary School. I have been in education for 12 years and have had the opportunity to teach 5th grade, 2nd grade, 1st grade, and, for the majority of that time, kindergarten, where I spent 6 years. I am passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I love building relationships with children of all ages.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6th) from Tennessee Technological University and my Master's degree in Physical Education from Cumberland University. I am currently working toward an Ed.s degree in School Counseling at Lipscomb University.
In addition to teaching, I previously coached girls' elementary and middle school basketball. Now, I have the privilege of assistant coaching the Smith County High School girls' flag football team. I love encouraging students both in the classroom and through athletics.
I am married to my husband, Josh Hackett. We have a daughter, Everly Anne, who keeps us smiling and on our toes. Outside of school, we love spending time together as family. Whether we are traveling, exploring nature, watching Disney, playing and watching sports, or simply enjoying slow days at home, we cherish making memories together.
I am excited to partner with our students, families, and staff to help every child feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to reach their full potential.
