CES Library

Dear CES Families,

We are thrilled to welcome your child into the library for a year filled with exciting reading adventures! Each student will visit the library as part of our "Specials" class rotation schedule. Since library days vary, please follow the rotation schedule closely to ensure your child returns books on time and has the opportunity to explore new ones.

Below, you'll find our library policies regarding book checkouts:

• Checkout Period: Students may borrow books for 10 school days.

• 1st - 4th Grade will begin checking out books the second week of school. Pre-K & K will begin checking out books the 2nd 9 weeks. We will use the first 9 weeks to learn and practice our system.

• Overdue Notices: Students with overdue books cannot borrow additional books until the overdue books are returned or renewed. We understand that circumstances may arise; please inform us so we can assist.

• Lost Books: If a book is lost, please search thoroughly before paying. Replacement costs, including processing fees and current replacement prices, will be charged. 

• Damaged Books: Students are responsible for damaged books. Examples include damage by animals or small children, stains from food or liquids, or improper storage leading to torn pages. Damaged books must be brought to the library for assessment; charges apply unless the damage is deemed beyond the student's control or repairable.

• There are no fines for overdue books. Students missing their library day can visit during the school day with teacher permission to exchange books.
