Class overview

Health Science:

Health Science Education, an introductory course to prepare students to pursue careers in public health, therapeutics, health administration, diagnostics, and support services. Completed course will provide students the ability to identify careers in these fields, compare and contrast the features in healthcare systems, explain the legal and ethical ramifications of healthcare setting, and begin to perform foundational healthcare skills. This course will be a strong foundation for all Health Science programs of study and Health Services Administration programs of study. Students will have no homework except for study for quizzes and Test.

Anatomy & Physiology

Anatomy and Physiology is an upper level course designed to develop an understanding of the structures and functions of the human body, while relating those to knowledge and skills associated with pathophysiology. Upon completion of this course, proficient students will be able to (1) apply the gross anatomy from earlier courses to a deeper understanding of all body systems, (2) identify the organs and structures of the support and movement systems, (3) relate the structure and function of the communication, control, and integration system, and (4) demonstrate a professionalism with lessons we cover. Students will not have homework except studying for Quizzes and Test.

Medical Therapeutics

Medical Therapeutics is an applied course intended to prepare students to pursue careers in nursing and therapeutic services. When the course is completed, students will be able to identify careers in therapeutic services; assess, monitor, evaluate, and report patient general health status; and identify the purpose and components of treatments.Students will not have homework except studying for Quizzes and Test.

Clinical Intership

 Students engage in industry relevant content through general education integration and experiences such as career & technical student organizations (CTSO) and work-based learning (WBL). Through these experiences, students are immersed with industry standard content and technology, solve industry-based problems, meaningfully interact with industry professionals, and use/produce industry specific, informational texts. Students will pick local Healthcare Facilities and go observe the various fields.
