Class overview

Welding 1:

Welding 1 is and introductory course designed to provide students with a strong foundation in welding and metal fabrication. Students learn essential shop safety, proper use of tools and equipment, blueprint reading, measurements, and welding terminology. Instruction includes an introduction to shielded metal arc welding, oxy-fuel cutting, plasma cutting, grinding, and basic metal preparation. Students develop fundamental welding skills through hands-on practice. Successful completion prepares students for more advanced welding processes and industry expectations.

Welding 2:

Welding 2 builds upon the skills developed in Welding 1 by expanding students' technical knowledge and increasing proficiency in welding processes. Students refine their shielded metal arc welding skills while being introduced to gas metal arc welding. Emphasis is placed on welding in multiple positions, reading and interpreting blueprints, weld quality, fabrication techniques, and industry standards.
