Class overview
The goal of our General Computer Science Course focuses broadly on foundational programming logic, software design, and general computational thinking. Inclusion of computer science concepts and skills regularly and across content areas will offer students more opportunities for exposure to potential career fields which employ tasks and skills they find success and enjoyment in while learning content. Consistent and ubiquitous inclusion of opportunities to increase skills that are part of 21st century life, including digital citizenship and etiquette, also allow support for development of beneficial social-emotional health habits. Emphasis on application of concepts in the learning process will help students understand these habits of problem solving and tools of computer science that will help them no matter the content studied and even into their future workplace.
About Me
Hi! I'm Coach Terri Brock and I am entering my 19th year of teaching and coaching. I am a graduate of White County High School, where I played basketball and volleyball. After high school, I attended UT Chattanooga on an athletic scholarship to play basketball. I graduated from UTC in 2001 with a degree in Business Administration. In 2023, I went back to TTU to pursue my teaching certification, so I could teach and coach!
My husband, Ronnie, and I have been married for 23 years and we have three children- Thomas, Lily, and Livie. Thomas works as an electrician, Lily is a sophomore at GHS, and Liv is a 5th grader at GES. We currently live in Gordonsville, and I am the GHS Girls Basketball Coach and Computer Science and Web Design teacher. This is my third year at GHS, and I am extremely grateful to be a part of the Gordonsville community!
Outside of coaching and teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, working out, playing pickleball, photography, thrifting, and listening to good music!
