Welcome to GES!
This week we will
CREATE collaborative group projects inspired by street artist, THANK YOU X. We are working on a huge wall mural using a decorated cube from each child.
PRESENT their work to their classmates and visiting parents in the halls.
RESPOND by Asking questions about each other's work, explaining their choices, and interpreting what they see.
CONNECT with their peers by visually introducing themselves and telling stories through symbolic and real imagery.
This year we will be celebrating our country's 250th birthday by focusing on American Artists!
(Pictured is a compilation of runner-up designs from this year's Fair Cover Art competition. There were so many great pictures. I was proud that students made the competition fierce!)

Art class goals for grades 3-6 should focus on enhancing creativity, developing technical skills, and fostering an appreciation for various art forms. These goals can include encouraging self-expression through different mediums and understanding the elements of design and composition.

About the Teacher
My name is Jenny Penuel. My husband and I live on our family farm here in Smith County. I have drawn and made things with my hands since I was able to hold a crayon. I love seeing students learn about their world and how to express their ideas through making things along with me.
