Class overview
Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) courses help students develop practical knowledge and life skills while exploring the areas of human development, nutrition, health, families, and human services. Throughout these courses, students learn how individuals and families grow, change, and thrive across the lifespan while developing skills that can be applied to everyday life and future careers.
About the Teacher
Hi! I am Mrs. Kaylee DeGraffenreid. This is my 5th year teaching FACS and being the FCCLA Advisor at SCHS. I have a bachelor's degree in Human Ecology with a concentration in Nutrition and Dietetics, and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in FACS Ed.
I have been married to my husband, Cooper, since April 2025. We enjoy traveling, sight-seeing, cooking, and being at home spending time together.
Classroom Expectations
Students will participate in all lessons, activities, and assignments when they are present in the classroom.
Students will update personal course portfolio consistently throughout course.
NO PERSONAL DEVICES - this includes cell phones, laptops, iPads, etc. Violations will result in immediate disciplinary action.
