Meranda Cook

Mrs. Meranda Cook is beginning her 21st year as the principal at Defeated Elementary School. 

Mrs. Cook’s roots run deep in this community. She attended Pleasant Shade Elementary and graduated from Smith County High School before earning her Elementary Education and Instructional Leadership degrees from Tennessee Tech University. After starting her teaching career in Macon County, she found her true home here at Defeated Elementary, where she has dedicated over two decades to supporting students, teachers, and families.

Outside of school, Mrs. Cook has been happily married to her husband, Daniel, for 22 years. They have two daughters: Mia, who is continuing the family tradition as an Education major at TTU, and Maci, a sophomore at Smith County High School. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her family, and attending sporting events. Go Braves and Owls!!
