Class overview
MLR introduces students to the knowledge, skills, and work habits required of professional automotive technicians. Students develop a strong foundation in shop safety, tool identification and use, vehicle inspection, preventive maintenance, and basic automotive systems. Through classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory experiences, students learn how to safely inspect, diagnose, and perform routine maintenance on passenger vehicles while following industry standards.

My name is Dalton Stallings. I am married to my wife, Taylor, and I have two daughters, Dallas and Oakley. I am the Head Softball Coach at Smith County High School and also serve as an Assistant Football Coach. This is my second year at SCHS, and I’m proud to be part of the Smith County community and to have the opportunity to work with and coach our students and athletes.
I have seven years in the automotive industry. I started as a tire tech in high school, moved to a lube tech, tech, car salesman, service advisor and a shop owner.
