Response to Intervention (RTI) Support Overview
Our RTI program provides targeted, small-group instruction designed to strengthen fundamental skills, fill learning gaps, and support overall classroom success. Student progress is monitored regularly using data-driven tools to ensure instruction meets individual needs and adapts as students grow. As students are identified as being at risk, I will place them in a RTI group with one of our Educational Assistants, or a certified teacher to help address each child's specific needs.

About me
My Teaching Journey
I’ve been teaching for 20 years across Knox, Warren, and Smith County. I’ve been with Smith County schools since 2014 and stepped into my current role as Literacy Leader at Carthage Elementary School in 2023. Helping students build strong foundational skills and a love for reading is my greatest passion.
Life Outside the Classroom
My husband, Chris, and I have been married for 20 years and have three amazing daughters: Aubrey (13), Scarlett (12), and Emma (8).
Outside of school, you’ll usually find us:
Cheering on our girls at basketball games and 4-H events.
Staying active with our church family at Carthage Church of Christ.
Heading to theme parks, water parks, or cheering on UT Football (Go Vols!) whenever we get some spare time.
