7th Grade Science and World History Class Overview:

Welcome to 7th Grade Science and Social Studies! These courses are designed to help students build the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed in high school and beyond.  Throughout the year, students will participate in hands-on activities, class discussions, collaborative projects, reading and writing assignments, and assessments aligned with Tennessee academic standards. 

7th Grade World History: 

In 7th Grade World History, students will examine major events, people, ideas, and developments in world history from the Middle Ages through the Age of Exploration (c. 400 to 1700s CE). The course will focus on the growth and global interactions of major civilizations, including medieval East Asia, the Byzantine Empire, Southwest Asia and North Africa, West African kingdoms, Middle Ages Europe, the Renaissance, the Scientific Revolution, Indigenous civilizations of the Americas, and European exploration.

Students will analyze primary and secondary sources, maps, timelines, artwork, and historical documents. They will practice identifying cause-and-effect relationships, comparing different perspectives, evaluating evidence, and explaining how events from the past continue to influence global society today.
