Grade 9
Welcome to the SMFHS Scheduling Center
Stow-Munroe Falls High School is excited to provide an efficient process for our incoming freshmen students to choose their academic courses. Here is what you need to do:
Step 1: Review the 9th grade Digital Notebook linked above.
Step 2: Watch the high school virtual tour linked above.
Step 3: Review the 9th grade Course Selection Sheet (below) and explore the different courses available. If you want more information about a course you are interested in, refer to the 2024-25 Course Catalog for full course descriptions and information. You can find the Course Catalog by clicking here.
Step 5: Once you have chosen your desired courses and totaled your credits, use the Scheduling Worksheet (below) to ensure you have enough time in the school day for the classes you've chosen.
Step 6: Email a copy of your completed Course Selection Sheet to your school counselor. You can find your school counselor by clicking here.
Freshman Scheduling Reminders:
As you choose your freshman year courses, please keep the following information in mind:
Freshmen students must choose a minimum of 6 classes each semester. Use the Scheduling Worksheet on the back of your Course Selection Sheet to assist.
All freshmen students must have one study hall each semester. This has already been filled in on your Scheduling Worksheet. Any open spaces on your Scheduling Worksheet will result in an additional study hall. Students can have a maximum of two study hall periods each semester.
All freshmen students must have an English, Math, Science, and Social Studies course. If you need a reminder of graduation requirements, see the document linked below.
A parent/guardian signature is required on your Course Selection Sheet.
Double checking your schedule requests is highly encouraged.
