Dear Parents,
Hello March!! We are slowly inching towards Spring!! 18 more days to be exact!! This upcoming weekend we Spring ahead already! Losing an hour is rough times in the classroom BUT looking at the brightside warmer weather is on the way! This week we will learn all about the letter S. The children will learn how to write the upper and lowercase S in the proper position. We will learn the sound the letter makes, create a word list, and create fun projects that reinforce the letter and sound for you to enjoy at home. In ELA writing we are working on our reinforcing sight words, writing sentences, learning the sight word we, and reading sentences in the classroom. They are doing well with them as we review them in the morning and we are getting excited as we begin to write simple sentences on our wipe boards and for some projects we have had hanging in the hallway. In math this week we will continue to focus on ten frames 11-20 as we are still needing extra practice and going to start to learn 3D shapes and their names. In religion we will continue to learn about being a Bucket Filler. This is perfect during our Lenten season as I am reinforcing how being kind and helping others feel good and special is the message God sends us every day. Everyday I have asked the students to do 1 good deed both at school and home for Lent. We discuss what they have done everyday before we start our religion lesson. This week we are closed on Friday for a conference day for the teachers. We will have pizza lunch on Thursday this week! Mystery readers start this week.
