Mrs. Csanko’s Classroom
June 2nd-June 6th
Dear Parents,
I hope you all had a wonderful yet chilly weekend! This week we will continue to work on the digraph TH. We will identify the sound in the beginning and end of words, complete smartboard activities and crafts as well. We will continue to review our sight word list, read in small group settings, write sentences, and read simple sentences in the classroom. In math we will continue to learn the concept of addition and we will review topics we have covered this year. We will work on the smart board, hands on activities and worksheets. We will also continue daily to count by 10’s and 5’s and work on counting by 2’s. In religion we will learn about why friendship was so important this year. We are also very busy preparing our end of the year projects that will be displayed at our celebration and learning all our songs!
Our moving up ceremony is coming quickly on Tuesday, June 17th at 10:30am. The class has been working so hard on their songs. I am super proud of them! If you are planning on having their siblings attend the ceremony please make sure on the day of to write to their homeroom teacher to remind them. Please remember to dress them in their Sunday best (no jeans). We are all looking forward to celebrating the end of a very successful and fun year together. I, myself, am working on not letting my tears fall that day as letting them go is one of my hardest jobs to do as their teacher. I truly love each and everyone of them. Thank you to each of you for all the support you have given me as well as the honor to love and teach your children this past school year. If you have not let me know how many people will be attending this program with you I would appreciate you letting me know NO LATER THAN THIS FRIDAY. I am trying to plan what we will need for our small reception after the program is finished. Please remember that day they come in at regular time but NO backpack please. A bag that can be thrown away with a very small snack and disposable water bottle please as well. We will NOT be coming back to the classroom at the end. You will depart with your child from the gymnasium. We have to be done at a certain time as the kindergarten will have their ceremony right after us, so no bringing belongings that have to be taken home is required that day.
Our Field Day is next Wednesday, June 11th. If you have not sent in what they want to eat that day please contact Mrs. Glynn in the office to let her know ASAP.
