Mrs. McWilliams

The Resource Department is an integral part of SMCS. The goal is to provide academic interventions and support to ensure student success.  We recognize each student's unique learning profile and appreciate their strengths and weaknesses.  As a team, we work with the classroom teachers to identify learning differences, create strategies, and provide accommodations to support students.   

Each grade level has a 30-minute WIN (What I Need) block where we work with small groups of students to provide targeted interventions in reading and math.  

When a need for student support is identified, a referral should be made to our department.  A Student Support Plan (SSP) will be developed after the student has completed psychological and/or medical testing. The plan includes accommodations, resources, and other professional needs.

Our primary goal is to serve as advocates for our students and support them in their quest for academic success.
