How do I get an SMCPS issued device?

All students are issued a SMCPS device. If you are new to SMCPS or never picked up your device, please reach out to your school's media specialist.


How do I set up my SMCPS device?

I am NEW to SMCPS? What do I use as my password?

NEW TO SMCPS? Never had a password? Login using the DEFAULT password: This will be the Student ID Number, a hyphen, initials, followed by smcps, all lowercase. For students with no middle initial, They only use their first and last initial.

Email: 3 initials and last 4 digits of your ID# followed by @k12.smcps.org.

Example Student: Alex Brandon Charles

Example Student ID: 123456

Example email: abc3456@k12.smcps.org

Example Default Password: 123456-abcsmcps

I am looking for information on how to update software on my SMCPS issued device.

My sound and headphones will not work on my SMCPS laptop.

My password does not work? How can I reset it or get help?

PLEASE NOTE: When creating a new password, your password CANNOT include any part of your first, middle or last name OR your ID# or username.

If you cannot login to your SMCPS issued device or complete the initial set up, please find another device (can be a phone) to reset your password. Use your new password to login to the SMCPS issued device.
