The Academy of Global and International Studies (GIS) provides a rigorous, engaging education where students study specific curricula related to world cultures, current affairs, history, literature, and languages. Students learn within a trans-disciplinary instructional model to allow regrouping and extension of lessons.
GIS students are enrolled in advanced coursework including specialized GIS designated courses. Each GIS course offers students opportunities to refine their academic organizational skills, analytic inquiry, presentation skills, as well as their writing talents. Students in GIS also research and present information related to student service, global awareness, and community activism.
GIS is housed at Leonardtown High School.
