Bring nutritional snacks, not junk, to fuel your body!
Be prepared to wake up early Every. Single. Day!
TIPS:
Every single person does NOT need to bring shampoo, body wash, sunscreen, etc. TALK to your roomie. The bus has limited space. Over packing will impact the amount of space YOU have to spread out!
Pack what you can now! Do not wait!
Make a list of what you don't have and need to pack, so you are organized and not stressing the night before we leave
Go to sleep early the night before we leave.
Wear your required camp attire, sweatpants & sweatshirt on top!
Theme Day:
Every year there is a camp theme. This year UCA Camp theme is 'GAME DAY'
The camp will host a pep rally event, where the team will dress in their theme.
Leonardtown will dress like a CONSESSION STAND for the Pep Rally. Amazon has a few fun costumes. Think: Hotdogs, French Fries, Hamburger, Coco-Cola, or maybe a Concession Carrier! accessories. Just simply search, "food costume" or "consession costume"
Oh..... and don't forget the BANANA!!!! IYKYK!
Outside of learning new material to bring home, your goal is to win the TOP BANANA!!!!
The Top Banana is the physical embodiment of what it means to attend a UCA camp. The Top Banana is rewarded to the teams at camp that demonstrate qualities of leadership, spirit and the overall ability to work hard while still having a blast!
Go into each class with enthusiasm and a ready to learn attitude. Hustle to your
next class and show your excitement by being in the front of the class and always ready to go!
On time! Make a conscious effort to always be on time or even five minutes early when transitioning classes or coming back to camp.
Bring your own traditions and originality to camp! We love hearing about what makes your squad unique and special.
ALWAYS have FUN! This is what camp is all about!
Noise… Be loud, proud and excited the entire time you are at UCA Camp! Yelling your school chants throughout camp will show us that you are having a BLAST representing your school.
Act respectfully. This is one of our most important rules! Being respectful to your teammates, coaches, #UCAstaff and camp location staff is very important for the overall camp experience. We want you all to have fun, and you can ensure the fun of others by encouraging respect on a camp-wide basis.
New friendships! One of the greatest parts about going to UCA Camp is the ability to meet others so we encourage you to interact with other teams and embrace the ability to make friends that can last a lifetime.
Actively pay attention in all of your seminars and classes. Camp is designed to better you and your team, so to get the most out of camp we encourage you to pay attention and participate at all times!
Support everyone you meet at camp. Having good sportsmanship is a quality that is not overlooked! To see teams supporting each other and learning from one another brings such positivity to the atmosphere and can ensure a great experience for all teams.
And last but not least: GO BANANAS! Enjoy the experience and make the best of your time spent at UCA Camp!
