The Automotive Technology program's instruction and practice are provided in the diagnosis of malfunctions, disassembly of units, parts inspection and repair or replacement involving engine performance, suspension systems, steering systems, brake systems, automatic transmission/transaxle, manual drivetrain and axles, heating and air conditioning, and engine repair. Also included is training on the use of computer-based repair and estimating programs, as well as online parts ordering.
No prerequisites are required for this program.
This class is a two-year program.
The number of periods required in a student's schedule to complete this program is as follows:
Year 1 = 2 periods
Year 2 = 3 periods
