The College & Career Center is an integral component of the Guidance Department and is the hub for college, career, and post-high school preparation.
Mrs. White offers assistance with colleges/universities, college applications, Common App, Naviance, college visits, letters of recommendations, financial aid, scholarships, PSAT/SAT/ACT and much more.
Mrs. Nantz offers assistance with internships, apprenticeships, career exploration, military, ASVAB and much more.

Now is the time to think about your plans after high school. With many changes in the world, one thing remains constant. Here at Chopticon High School, we are committed to helping each one of you reach your post-secondary goals. Now is the time for seniors to begin looking into college, applications, SAT, financial aid, and more.
Students and parents will receive frequent emails from the College & Career Center in regards to college, scholarships, financial aid, college visits, internships, apprenticeships, workforce and much more.

The following college/universities will be visiting Chopticon High School
Students will receive a pass to attend from their teacher the day of the visit. All students MUST have a pass!! If you do not have a pass, you will NOT be permitted to attend.
All teachers have final approval for students to attend during their class period. Students are responsible for any and all work missed.

All SMCPS students in 11th grade in SY 2024-2025 have the opportunity to take the PSAT free of charge during the school day on October 9, 2024. Taking PSAT as a junior makes a student eligible for National Merit Scholarship Program. The PSAT will be offered only at home high schools. If you would like a PSAT exam ordered for you/your student, please complete the following information. Exams will ONLY be ordered for juniors who complete this registration form. This form must be completed by August 29, 2024 Students who register for an exam but do not participate in the exam may be charged a fee of $15.

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a standardized test that measures a person's aptitude in four domains: verbal, math, science and technical, and spatial. It's given to high school and post-secondary students, as well as more than one million military applicants each year. The ASVAB helps determine enlistment eligibility, job training eligibility, and future academic and occupational success in the military. It also helps identify careers that may be a good fit for a person, and helps them find a job that matches their strengths
