ABOUT THE BSU:
ABOUT THE BSU:
The Civil Rights Movement was originally the catalyst for the creation of the Black Student Union, with the first being founded in 1966 at San Francisco State University. The BSU acts as a liaison between administration and students, in addition to promoting beneficial change and unity on campuses across the United States. Here at Leonardtown, our Black Student Union will advocate for the needs of its students, while teaching, empowering, discussing, and exploring the Black experience. While the club is geared toward students of African/Black descent, anyone is welcome to join. We believe that everyone has the right to learn and listen to other people's experiences, as well as immerse themselves in the richness Black history has to offer.
