San Mateo County Office of Education commits to convening a Computer Science Steering Committee that will commit to writing a Strategic Implementation Plan and providing leadership in the implementation of the California CS Standards equitably across our 23 school districts.
San Mateo County Office of Education commits to convening a Computer Science Steering Committee that will commit to writing a Strategic Implementation Plan and providing leadership in the implementation of the California CS Standards equitably across our 23 school districts.
The Computer Science Steering Committee (CSSC) will convene 12-20 individuals, representing the San Mateo County Board of Education, Career Technical Education, Early Childhood Education, Higher Education, School Principals, School Counselors, School Librarians, District Superintendents, Elementary, Middle, and High School Teachers, Teachers Union, Special Education, English Learner Support, Court & Community Schools, IT Departments, and Parents. Our first meeting will occur by November 2019. The Strategic Implementation Plan will be presented to the Board of Education by June 2020. Professional development and coaching will continue to be offered through our STEAM Center, with the goal of representation from each of our 23 districts and increased participation from the five districts with the highest proportion of English Language Learners.
