We started the service in governmental hospitals in Bujumbura like “Clinique Prince Regent Charles” and “Clinique Prince Louis Rwagazorie”.
In 2014, we obtained the license of our charity clinic in Kabondo to serve the people in need and offer a free medical services.
Also, our medical services are expanding to other areas in Burundi like "Ijenda hospital", “centre de santé de Mutumba”, “missionnaire de la charité” (Mother Teresa houses) and "hospital in Gitega".
As part of the multi-dimensional role of “Association de l’Eglise Orthodoxe Copte au Burundi” (AEOCB), the association has had the kids development as one of it's main goals. On weekly basis association representatives arrange meetings with the kids in the church area to develop their physical, cognitive, social and emotional abilities, this happens through learning classes for example mathematics and science as well as general knowledge and geography, this helps the child develop a learning and understanding of their surrounding ecosystem that will help him encounter the real world through their schools, work and life. Language learning is one of the main pillars so french learning is done on weekly basis as well, for sure during the day, lots of activities like games, crafts and videos as well as some theater plays will happen to enhance the kids learning and development, some of the games have a reflection that will help them learn life motto through games. In addition, to the weekly activities the association arranges festivals to the kids including sports days that will help their physical and social development. The association cares about the children hygiene, and accordingly a full program is developed to improve their hygiene learning that helps develop and improve their health.
We offer a meal, once a week, in our place at Kabondo, to the poor children of Bujumbura (from age 2 to 15). Our aim is to fight hunger & malnutrition. We will offer a meal of rice & red beans to around 400 child.
History of our project:
It started on 2012, we used to gather the poor children in their neighborhood, with the help of resident volunteers, to tell them stories, teach them songs, games & give them basic hygiene lessons...
By the end of 2013, we thought to gather them at our place for better service. We arranged a bus service to move them easily. It was the same program accompanied by a snack (cake, juice, sandwiches ...). But we noticed that the children were suffering from malnutrition, so we decided to give them, once a month, a hot meal of rice & red beans.
But after the crisis of 2015, we make the meal once a week. Also, we used to give them a free medical consultation during the medical missions.
We give them too scholar materials as notebooks, pens, pencils and sharpeners before backing to school in order to help them to study.
