Each year Dr. Malisch travels to the eastern sierras in early May to study White-crowned Sparrows and Dark-eyed Juncos that are breeding at Tioga Pass Meadow, just outside Yosemite National Park. Students joining Dr. Malisch live in a small rustic cabin that is off the grid, has limited electricity, limited cellular service and NO WIFI! The research is conducted over 6-8 weeks and includes hiking long distances in snow shoes at an elevation of 10,000 feet. If this sounds like a good time to you, email Dr. Malisch at jlmalisch@smcm.edu.
