The paper above Is an Introduction essay for a class that I took this semester titled Pilars of Information. It focuses on the fundamental concepts that the class, "Globalization In Latin America," built on throughout the semester. It Incorporates topics such as globalization, modernity, decolonization, and neoliberalism. The Information within the paper has proven to be a good source of reference for me this semester both for the class and my SMP.
The paper above was the final for my "Indigenous Cultures of Latin America" course that I took In the fall of '22. This paper focuses on the Idea of autonomy In Latin American societies. It addresses the question of whether or not giving Indigenous communities full autonomy to govern themselves and their laws is a good thing. I learned a lot about both perspectives while writing this piece, and It has added to my cultural literacy.
This slideshow was made for a case study project in my "Sociology of Work and Occupations" class. I chose to Investigate the job of a medical Interpreter. This occupation entails acting as a cultural and linguistic bridge between patients and doctors. The cover letter I wrote for GSD was directed at a translator job, and a medical Interpreter Is essentially just a branch of that.
This slideshow was made for a project I was assigned in my "Invention of Latin America" class. The presentation addresses very complex concepts that have had deep Impacts on the development of the Latin American landscape. I learned a lot about the subliminal and less surface level effects of colonization on different regions.
