These directions apply to FULL-TIME faculty on a term or permanent contract.
By the end of the FIRST business day of the NEW month, faculty need to enter their sick leave use for the previous month.
For example, by May 1, faculty must their leave use during April.
Faculty must enter a 'timesheet' even if they took NO leave; this ensures that your leave balance accrues.
Faculty who continue employment from one academic year to the next will need to enter leave over the summer EVEN THOUGH WE ARE OFF CONTRACT to ensure that leave continues to accrue.
Faculty who are on PAID LEAVE WILL STILL NEED TO ENTER LEAVE USE.
Faculty can choose to submit timesheets 'ahead of schedule'. This can make it easier to manage the need for summer timesheets, timesheets while on sabbatical, or just wanting it off of your to-do list for a period of time.
Once we're "fully rolled out", if faculty do not submit their leave use ON TIME for a particular month, their leave balance will not be accurate for up to 60 days.
To find the video, log in to the SMCM Ticket System (www.smcm.edu/it), and instead of submitting a ticket to OIT, select the SOLUTIONS tab from the left menu, and then look for SOL-141, which is the Timesheet for Faculty.
If you run into issues that are not covered on this guide, please contact the person who is responsible for approving your timesheet (your Associate Dean if it is a monthly timesheet; if it's a contractual timesheet, it varies depending on the duty, so please check with your Academic Fiscal Associate if you don't know).
