I believe that this strand will help students in improving their communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that will help them in their future career that involves learning about humanities and social sciences.
Humss or Humanities and Social Science is a strand focusing on enhancing your communication and writing skills. If you possess this skills or you want to improve in order to master your chosen field, and if you’re interested in studying how society works, culture, language, and the laws, then this is the perfect strand for you. This strand offers career like Teacher, Lawyer, Journalist, Psychologists, Political Science, etc. As you observe these careers requires a strong communication skills and critical thinking.

One of the career that tourism course can offer is the Flight Attendant. Everything we learned from the Humss strand can help guide us along the path we will take as a flight attendant. Communication is one big factor in this role, as flight attendants need to deliver clear instructions, make announcement, and assist passengers from different cultural and linguistic background.
In addition to communication, the HUMSS strand also teaches students with social and cultural awareness, which is crucial when dealing with passengers from diverse nationalities. Being a flight attendant requirs not just serving passengers, but also understanding their needs, emotions, and behaviors to ensure a comfortable and safe journey for everyone.
