Our theme this half term is 'Frozen Planet' and the children have learnt all about the polar regions. Through our Geography and Reading lessons, the children have learnt where the poles are located, what these regions are like and how people can survive there. We also found out about many explorers and their journeys to the South Pole, including the famous Robert Falcon Scott and Sir Ernest Shackleton.
Al has led an expedition to the South Pole which was a challenging yet extremely rewarding experience. Throughout our morning together, he shared his experience with the children and inspired them with his admirable story. Al taught us to never give up on our dreams and to work hard to achieve something special.
