Madeline Barbaro

St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School

CEFO Catholic Student of the Year 2022


Madeline is an ambitious and diligent student. In her time at St Peter’s, she participated in many extracurricular events, leadership activities and charitable events. She organized a fundraiser for the Women’s and Children’s crisis centre. She was a valuable member of our Panther student union, organizing events for our school. Her academics were outstanding as was her example of Christian leadership. 


Rylind Davis

St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School

2022 CEFO Catholic Student of the Year


Rylind is a well-known and respected member of his community. With experience as a PA announcer, four years on the Student Council, and his role as a peer tutor, Rylind's leadership and communication skills are evident. He is committed to inclusivity and demonstrates it through volunteering in the Special Education Resource Centre and serving on the Accessibility Advisory Committee for the Town of Huntsville. Rylind is a compassionate advocate for others and a valuable asset to his school and community.

Charlotte Jackson

St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School

Charlotte embodies true leadership in her community. Never seeking recognition, she is content to do the hard work behind the scenes. Guided by her spirit of service she helps whenever she can - from the Terry Fox Run, to parish and school events. Her selflessness and commitment to service make Charlotte a shining example for others.

Emily Lawrence

In the OLB community, Emily left a lasting legacy. Engaging in various activities, from athletics to student leadership, school plays, announcements, and liturgies - Emily's commitment never wavered. Her gentle leadership and inclusive nature made everyone feel valued, endearing her to staff and students. Emily was a quiet influence, but her maturity and approachability made her a respected and relatable role model. Since graduating, her absence is keenly felt. 

Noelia Murillo

Holy Trinity Catholic High School

2022 CEFO Catholic Student of the Year



Noelia is a dedicated student actively involved in her church community. She is a member of the Liturgy band and uses her musical talents to lead worship. Noelia has a leadership role in the Holy Martyrs of Japan parish youth group. She also serves as a church camp counselor and assists as an altar server during Mass. Noelia's commitment to her faith and her various roles exemplify her devotion to serving others and deepening her spiritual journey.

Jonathan Sparks

President of the Student Council, Jonathan is dedicated to creating a positive school environment. He is actively involved in many activities, showcasing his dedication to making a positive impact. Jonathan has many years of experience as an altar server. When he assists with masses and liturgies at school, he enhances the spiritual experience for everyone involved. Jonathan brings a wealth of knowledge and reverence to his school community.

Mckenzie Susil

Serving as Student Council President, Mckenzie took a leading role to promote social justice initiatives. She was always available to help with environmental and spiritual causes.  As part of a team, McKenzie helped establish essential mental health and wellness practices during COVID, including breathing exercises and meditation for overall well-being.
