Summary
When the British first defeated the Spanish armada, Queen Elizabeth I decided to start sending out different groups of explorers to the Americas. The British used new technology like the astrolabe and lateen sail to make it to the Americas. The British, realizing the money that could be made, started to mass produce a bunch of the crops and resources from the Americas like tobacco, rice, tar, and pitch. Another big thing that the British sold were pelts gotten from many different animals that were hunted.
Comparison
The British and the Ottomans were very similar to each other. They both had massive claims across their empire and used newer technologies to conquer less advanced territories. However the British had claims across the global meanwhile the Ottomans had claims that was connected to their capital. The Ottomans would fall because they couldn't advance unlike the British who continued to become more advanced as time passed.Â
