"Implementing a high-quality TK program requires a deep understanding of California's standards for kindergarten, as well as an extensive knowledge of child development and effective instructional strategies for young learners. In this video segment, The Alignment of the California Preschool Learning Foundations with Key Early Education Resources: California Infant/Toddler and Development Foundations, California Content Standards, Common Core State Standards, and Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework document is highlighted as a tool for TK curriculum planning. TK curriculum content and strategies for taking an integrated learning approach are reviewed. Emphasis is placed on exposing students to curriculum concepts through experiential and hands-on activities in real contexts" (CDE. 2013).
