Welcome to M. Gary's 7th and 8th grade math classes!
Mr. Gary utilizes a number of devices to manage his Zoomies and Roomies. He also effectively uses his touchscreen Chromebook to write math notes on the screen and share the notes with all students.
Welcome to Mrs. Medina's 7th grade AVID class!
Her students engaged in a collaborative team-building lesson for AVID standard 7-Coll via the simulcast teaching model. Mrs. Medina's Zoomies (students at home) follow along as she moves to the whiteboard and back to her teaching station. The AVer camera tracks her, so students at home can watch the writing on the board.
Standard 7-Coll
1. Foster trust building skills by working with partners to complete a specified task
2. Enhance understanding of collaboration by working in groups during team building and motivational activities or problem solving
3. Participate in group discussions and reflections based on collaborative work (e.g., ThinkPair-Share, Jigsaw, Numbered Heads)
4. Acknowledge new information expressed by others and, when warranted, modify views accordingly
5. Engage in dialogue within a large, teacher-supported group discussion, to gain a deeper understanding of the topic discussed and the process used
