Etana Fikadu is a dedicated researcher and PhD Holder in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence. He is completed his doctoral studies through a joint PhD degree program between Wollega University in Ethiopia and the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (IIT Palakkad) in India. He holds both a Master of Science degree and bachelor's degree in computer science from Wollega University 2014 and 2018 respectively.
Etana has published more than 18 research articles in reputable international journals, with recent contributions appearing in renowned Springer Nature publications such as Scientific Reports, Discover Computing and Discover Applied Sciences. His research interests lie in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Deep Learning, with a strong focus on applied research that addresses real-world challenges.
In addition to his academic and research activities, Etana is actively involved in community service and university outreach programs. He also enjoys developing websites and web-based applications, combining his technical skills with a passion for practical technology solutions. His technical proficiency includes programming in Python and JavaScript, working with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, and using web development tools like React.js. Etana is also experienced in academic tools including Github, Mendeley, and LaTeX.
Etana is committed to advancing research, mentoring students, and contributing to the academic and technological development of his community. His long-term goal is to leverage AI to solve local and global challenges, particularly in the areas of education, language, and healthcare.
