Norms to propose a new IDDD program:
Justification for the interdisciplinary nature of the program
The need for the proposed program and the expected outcome of the program
Buy-in from existing cluster or creation of new cluster.
Interested group of faculty members (from multiple departments) and their commitment in overall execution.
Commitment from potential course instructors (minimum 3-4 instructors) for at least three years for each course in the proposed curriculum.
Norms to invite existing faculty members to SIDiS:
Justification to be provided on the choice of suitable clusters based on their expertise with relevant research accomplishments.
Contributions made to exiting IDDD, I2MP courses in the cluster. If not, willingness to teach courses offered in IDDD, I2MP programs for at least three years.
Willingness to contribute to research programs of the cluster.
Willingness to execute sponsored/consultancy projects through SIDiS
Commitment to participate and contribute to administrative responsibilities of SIDiS and SCC.
Faculty contribution in Teaching, Research guidance, publications, SR, IC, and Internationalization in the areas of the cluster.
Norms to start a new cluster:
Rationale of formation of a new cluster – opportunities, demand, and justification on why the proposed cluster does no fit within existing clusters
Number of participating faculty members (from more than two departments), and identified faculty members and their commitment in overall execution.
The group of faculty members proposing the cluster, shall understand that full-time faculty members directly under SIDiS may not be recruited.
National and International Scenario of proposed domain and its significance on why such cluster to be formed at IITM.
Commitment from potential faculty members to be part of the new cluster and their willingness to be course instructors (at least three) for at three years for each course in the proposed curriculum.
Performance evaluation of existing clusters:
IDDD, I2MP Students enrollment for the entire period
Research scholars’ performance and progress
Sponsored, consultancy projects
Placement activities
International collaborations, joint research students, and projects
