Alekhya joined the Networks and Stochastic Systems (NetSS) laboratory in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) in August 2021 as a Ph.D. research scholar. 

She received her M. Tech. degree in Communication Systems Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IITP) in the year 2021, where she worked on the research areas of applied machine learning and biomedical signal processing. She received her B. Tech. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), Basar, in the year 2019.
