Two-lane undivided roads make up more than half of the total road network length in India. Overtaking is one of the most complicated maneuvres that take place on two-lane two-way roads. It has implications on the safety and level of service of the facility. Most overtaking literature is based on simplistic assumptions and does not consider heterogeneous traffic conditions. A robust data-driven model that considers driver, vehicle and roadway parameters will enhance the understanding of overtaking maneuvres.
