Kansas PTA is proud to sponsor, support, and encourage our students in grades 5-12 to write an essay or poem on
the selected theme. The theme changes every year as it encourages our students to think about Citizenship.
It's easy to implement the Citizenship program at your school.

Each year SMAC provides a brief training workshop for your local unit Citizenship Chairs.
Learn how PTA Citizenship contests work, including important dates and timelines, ways to promote the contests, get judges and much more!
The sessions will also focus on increasing student participation while reducing work for organizers.
New and past local school chairs are encouraged to attend.
We just wanted to share with you one way a Citizenship Chair got personally creative in a fun an innovative way to let the teachers in his school know about the chance for a creative writing opportunity that is the Kansas PTA Citizenship Contest. Enjoy!"
