At Silvermine Academy, we believe in the power of community and the invaluable role parents play in the educational and emotional development of their children. Our initiative, Empathy Exchange aims to bring together parents and guardians from the SMA community and the Valley, to offer a platform to share experiences, insights, and support in a journey that can often feel isolating.
The Empathy Exchange series is designed to foster a community of support among parents, enabling engaging conversations on topics that touch upon the challenges and triumphs of parenting. Ivyn Sambo was a student investor and is active on many different platforms. His podcast. “The Student Investor” is the second most popular financial podcast in Africa.
During his visit, he gave powerful advice on how to save and budget.

Exciting times have dawned upon our Art and Design Studio at Silvermine Academy as we proudly introduce the latest jewel in our creative crown – a brand-new mechanical printing press! This remarkable addition, made possible through the collaborative efforts of our passionate students, dedicated teachers, and a successful fundraising initiative, promises to redefine the artistic landscape within our walls.
The Story of Project Chrome
In the spirit of innovation and creativity, Silvermine Academy is launching a new initiative called Project Chrome. As you may or may not know, we are aspiring to become a Google Reference School which means that we make use of Google Workspace for Education to teach our students how to excel in the cloud-based environment. Cloud-based platforms are already the most prevalent tool for collaboration in most workplaces. It allows people to work together at the time from different physical spaces. It also emphasises access to information and can greatly increase productivity.
