Dr. Yun Tan is a Professor at the Center of Anatomical Studies and Education (CASE), the Department of Surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She completed
her MD training in China and received her PhD degree in Anatomy at Saint Louis University. Her research interests are
online supplement teaching tools and anatomical variations in the human body. Currently, Dr. Tan serves as the faculty advisor for the Chinese Free Clinic.
Dr. Jingyang Fan is the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, School of Pharmacy. Dr. Fan received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and subsequently completed a pharmacy practice residency (PGY-1) at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Fan is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist and specializes in cardiology. Dr. Fan is interested in various areas of pharmacy practice including cardiology, critical care, and diabetes. Her research areas of interest include anticoagulation, heart failure, diabetes, and innovative teaching methods, including using technology in the classroom and performance-based assessment.
Dr. Tina Chen was born in Houston, Texas, and lived in Taiwan for two years when she was in grade school. She is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Saint Louis University Hospital. She completed emergency medicine residency at University of Connecticut, followed by a fellowship in medical simulation at the Center of Education, Simulation, and Innovation at Hartford Hospital. She is currently the Director of the Saint Louis University School of Medicine Simulation Center.
Dr. Jin Wang graduated from the PUMC medical school just located beside the Forbidden city in Beijing, China. She was trained in Cleveland Clinic health system and has been practicing in hospital medicine in the Saint Louis area for 12 years. She was on the faculty of internal medicine residency program in Mercy St Louis hospital for 8 years. She loves to work with medical students and residents and was named the best teacher of the year twice. She is currently board certified in internal medicine and obesity medicine. She is currently a
fellow of infectious disease in SLU hospital. Her research interest is teleID. She is also very involved in COVID prevention and education in the Chinese community in Saint Louis area.
Dr. Yafei Huang had her MD training in China and came to the U.S. in 2000 for graduate school. In 2006, she earned her PhD degree in Preventive Medicine and Community Health at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Her research in the next few years was primarily on the prevention and early diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease. Dr. Huang returned to clinical medicine in 2012 and has been practicing as an internist since then. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at both Washington University and Saint Louis University, with a strong focus on resident teaching in ambulatory medicine.
Dr. Guoyu Ling had his medical school training in China and came to the U.S. in 1998 for graduate school. In 2005, Dr. Ling completed a PhD in environmental health science at University at Albany. After a number of years of research, primarily in the area of molecular pathogenesis of human diseases, he went back to clinical training and has been practicing since 2011. Currently Dr. Ling is an Endocrinology Fellow at SLU. My goal is to incorporate basic science into clinical research, and eventually translate that into clinical practice.
Dr. Yixi Tu was born in China and moved to the US when she was 12. Dr. Tu went to undergrad at WashU, medical school at University of Tennessee, and completed internal medicine residency at University of Louisville with board certification in internal medicine. Currently, Dr. Tu is a second-year gastroenterology fellow at SLU with an interest in functional GI disorders.
Dr. Philip Mar was born in Taiwan but moved to the United States when he was quite young. He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. After medical school Dr. Mar completed his internal medicine training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and then finished the rest of his training in cardiology at the University of Louisville and Indiana University. He is now a board-certified cardiologist and specializes in treating arrhythmias. He is also on faculty at the School of Medicine at Saint Louis University.
