1. Please complete the Institute Evaluation. It is found below the exit slips. It must be done in one sitting and will take about 30 minutes. This is the last requirement before stipends are submitted.

Friday Morning, July23rd

1. Please wear your white t-shirt today!

2. We begin at 8:30 in the rooms listed on the schedule. Come to the gym to sign in and get coffee. Then proceed directly to your group's room. Everyone will be presenting their 2 slides in their group. We will conclude by 9:45 and move to the gym by 10:00 (this is a slight schedule change).

7. DIVERSITY DECK CONTRIBUTIONS: Thank you to those who have contributed! Everyone is invited to nominate individuals and we are especially in need of careers not already mentioned (trades, the arts, law enforcement and military, public services, etc.) and careers for which preparation is not necessarily a college degree.

8. There is an INSTITUE EVALUATION to be completed as the FINAL document needed. It is now posted under the exit slips. You may complete it tonight or complete it during lunch tomorrow. You must complete it in one sitting. You can not stop in the middle and later pick up where you left off. It will probably take about 30 minutes.

9. For everyone who has 3 Organizers, 2 Slides and 1 Evaluation completed tomorrow (or Sunday night), your stipend will be sent in for processing on Monday morning!

2. Our Goal: 100% Club! This means:

•Everyone will have a draft Organizer for our first session on Monday.

•3 Organizers will all be submitted by Wednesday.

3. Next week: •The schedule is posted online. •Print copies are hung in hallways.

4. A "Planner" has been distributed. This is simply another version of the schedule and shows next week's field trips, required sessions and choice sessions with descriptions.

5. All groups have 4 required sessions next week:

1.A Career session (Monday or Tuesday)

2.A STEM employer field trip- off site or virtual (Monday – Thursday)

3.The SLU Bones, Joints, Muscles, Heart field trip followed by extensions and integrations (Wednesday or Thursday)

8. In the News for July 12th:

   1. Rising senior Obike Anwisye of Gateway STEM High School has been named to the 2021 FIRST robotics Competition Dean’s List, an honor given to 10 students worldwide each year.

   2. Students in East St. Louis can expand their science, technology, engineering and math knowledge through the new JJK Center Elementary Learning Program. The program is a partnership among the Jackie Joyner Kersee Foundation, Maryville University and the Regions Foundation of Regions Bank. The program will include teacher training, materials for students, family workshops and after school programming.

5. Field trip details for Tuesday:

a. Group D starts their day at Castlewood State Park. Group C goes to Castlewood for the afternoon. Wear water shoes, sunscreen and insect repellant. Long pants and long sleeves recommended. Bring your binder (not computer). Masks will be optional. Directions are under Today > Field Trips.

b. Groups A and B will have a box lunch delivered during the Technology Integration and Applications session and will transition to Victory Raceway for the afternoon with a 12:15 start (lunch is provided to assist with the transition). Wear closed toed shoes. Bring your binder. Complete the waiver.

7. Pershing staff has announced that, beginning tomorrow, the teacher's lounge will be available for TQ participant use. There is a refrigerator and and microwave. The lounge is just around the corner from the gym.
