Melanie Canaday-Talley, EdD has taught integrated science for Ferguson-Florissant School District for the last eighteen years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in LAS Speech Communications, Pre-Law at University of Illinois, a teaching certificate from Drury University, a Master’s in Education with an Advanced Certificate in Science from Washington University and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Missouri St. Louis. Melanie is a member of Ferguson-Florissant’s Instructional Leadership Team. She is involved in planning and providing PD within and outside the district. Melanie participated in Teacher Trek with the St. Louis Science Center and then went on to provide PD for the next year’s Teacher Trek participants in Montana. Melanie is a recipient of the Boeing Educator to Space Camp Award, where she received PD with teachers from around the world. Canaday was also selected as a Noyce Teaching Fellow sponsored by the National Science Foundation and Washington University in St. Louis. She was the 2012 recipient of the Outstanding Middle School Science Teacher Award from Science Teachers of Missouri and the 2012 Turner H. Wiley Awardee for the National Challenger Centers. She was a member of the first STEM TQ cohort and began facilitating the next year.
