Leon Sharpe is founder and principal of The Praxis Group, a professional-development consulting firm where he has designed and implemented training programs for a vast array of schools, school districts, and other institutions for over fifteen years. Prior to establishing his independent practice, he spent several years as a public school administrator and as the director of community education and international leadership at the American Youth Foundation. He is an adjunct professor at Webster University School of Communications and has also taught courses in adult learning and human development at UM-St. Louis College of Education. He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from Washington University and completed a fellowship in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT. He is co-author of the textbook – Media Messages: What Film, Television, and Popular Music Teach Us About Race, Class, Gender, and Sexual Orientation
