John Buerck, PhD is the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in the School for Professional Studies at Saint Louis University (SLU). Prior to coming to SLU, he served as a Technical Education Specialist in the Information Services Center for Technical Education at Southwestern Bell. At SLU, he works with Program Directors to oversees both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Some of these programs are Information Systems, Security and Strategic Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Project Management and Applied Analytics. He serves on the eLearning committee, academic excellence committee and the curriculum committee. He received the student government faculty excellence award in 2012 and the School for Professional Studies teacher of the year award in 2003. Buerck’s areas of research/publication are: adaptive learning technologies, learning analytics, social/professional and ethical issues in computing, and curriculum development.
