Joan Braun taught earth, physical, life science and biology for over 30 years. She earned her bachelor's degree in Education at the University of Missouri, Columbia and her M.S. in Educational Technology from Fontbonne University. She is a member of the Science Teachers of Missouri (STOM) and National Science Teachers Association (NSTA). Her science and career education experience has expanded through participation in programs with the Missouri Conservation Department, American Chemical Society, Carpenters Union, Audubon Center, and St. Louis Box Turtle Project. As a recipient of the Boeing Educator to Space Camp Award, Joan participated in professional development along with teachers from around the world. Braun was also selected as a Noyce Teaching Fellow sponsored by the National Science Foundation and Washington University in St. Louis. She currently works at Little Creek Nature Area and the Challenger Learning Center.
