2022 IDBI-SPUR (pilot year)

The Saint Louis University (SLU) Institute for Drug and Biotherapeutic Innovation (SLU-IDBI) Summer Program in Undergraduate Research (IDBI-SPUR) piloted its part-time program for undergraduate SLU students using funds provided by the SLU Scholarly Undergraduate Research Grants and Experiences (SURGE) program. All SURGE IDBI-SPUR Fellowships were 8-weeks long and the fellows were paid $15/hr.

We had 21 applications for the full-time IDBI-SPUR Fellowship and were able to fund 9 part-time SURGE IDBI-SPUR Fellows thanks to the SURGE program. This was an 43% acceptance rate.

As this was the pilot year, we didn't have any cohort activities during the summer. However, all SURGE IDBI-SPUR Fellows were invited to present their work at the IDBI 1st Annual Research Symposium, and many chose to do so.
