This mental health training series is designed to provide trade professionals with critical tools and knowledge to address mental health challenges within their workplaces. Through each session, participants will gain a deeper understanding of mental health issues prevalent in high-stress industries like construction and learn actionable strategies to support colleagues and create a safer, more supportive work environment. The sessions also emphasize early intervention, resilience, and support for individuals experiencing mental health crises or substance misuse.

Event 1: Friday, November 15, 2024
**Awareness and Prevention:**

Participants will learn to recognize signs of mental health crises, including how to question, persuade, and refer (QPR) individuals in distress to appropriate support.
Event 2: Friday, December 13, 2024
**Workplace Resources and Best Practices:**

Attendees will understand the importance of proactive workplace policies and resources, such as addiction and mental health support materials, and be introduced to resources and initiatives, like the LEAN-STL program, aimed at reducing substance use and addiction within the workforce.

**Practical Mental Health Tools:**

Through sessions like Mental Health First Aid and Recovery-Friendly Workplaces, participants will develop practical skills to support mental wellness and recovery, fostering an inclusive, understanding, and stigma-free environment.

**Suicide Prevention:**

The training will educate attendees on suicide prevention strategies, including limiting access to lethal means of self-harm. This can be a an important part of approach to suicide prevention at the workplace and at home.
