The Residence Hall Association of Saint Louis University is a student-run and led organization. Under the advisement of the Department of Housing and Residence Life, RHA is the second-largest student organization on campus and is constantly growing. Through its many events and programs, RHA stresses values such as leadership, community building, and advocacy. RHA is made up of representatives from each of the residence halls and apartment complexes.
Each community area has its own council with board officers and representatives from the various floors or buildings who report to their council. In addition, each council sends its President and RHA Liaisons to the RHA Boardroom meetings. The RHA Boardroom is a campus wide body that focuses primarily on programming and serving as a voice for on-campus residence through advocacy and legislation. RHA functions to promote involvement in various activities, provide programs for students living on campus, and to serve as the link between the students and administration.
The Residence Hall Association of Saint Louis University is comprised of a forum of student leaders dedicated to achieving the common goal of improving the community in which students live. As an organization open to all residents of Saint Louis University, we are committed to communicating with other student organizations and university departments, supporting the hall councils, and developing social and educational programs. By utilizing leadership, communication, programs, and legislation, we are driven to improve the on-campus community.
The executive board coordinates activities meant to enhance the on campus living experience of SLU students living in the on-campus residences overseen by the Department of Housing and Residence Life. They also advise and support councils within each community who cater to the needs and voices of those community members. The executive board holds weekly Boardroom and monthly General Assembly meetings, welcome to any on-campus resident. Here, the liaisons of each council will vote on legislation that will affect the member of the association in terms of the way the organization is run as well as major decisions that affect the councils and halls.
