10:30am - 6pm

Pere Marquette Gallery, DuBourg Hall 2nd Floor

How will we feed a growing population, in a changing climate, and an equitable and sustainable way? The SLU Summit for Food and the Environment will highlight ongoing research at SLU aimed at addressing the global challenge of balancing food security and ecosystem security. The summit will begin at 10:30 with opening remarks from Dr. Frances Pestello followed by a keynote presentation by Dr. Gary Nabhan, a leading thinker in sustainable food systems. After lunch, SLU faculty members representing diverse disciplines from across campus will share their current work as well as thoughts for future research directions. Refreshments will be presented by the SLU Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. Please join us for an interactive symposium around these important topics.

Complementary parking is available in the Laclede parking garage: 3602 Laclede Avenue. Enter through the visitor entrance and let the attendant know that you are here for the SLU Summit on Food and the Environment.
