Research Alliances

Research Alliances are 6-8 member peer groups who combine discussion, debate, education, accountability, and support to tackle challenges.

Knowledge, insights, and best practices are shared openly, without focus on a single individual. Peers hold each other accountable for participation. Challenges are defined by the group; individuals bring creativity, experience, hard work, perseverance, and open minds to reach solutions. Alliance activities result in co-ordination of effort and expertise to solve a common problem.

Form a Research Alliance: OVPR is recruiting Research Alliance leaders to facilitate groups and guide discussion. Leaders can develop their own agendas and OVPR will facilitate with meeting logistics and advertising to recruit group members. Research Alliance topics can be broad (e.g. writing accountability) or more specific (e.g. challenges with accessing high end instrumentation) – the key is that they are defined by faculty and led by faculty. To form a research alliance: All full-time faculty members are invited to lead a Research Alliance. Include name, department, college, and a brief paragraph on your idea for a Research Alliance.
