With the help of our simple, yet effective phone application, the CPR procedure will be made easy to follow in an emergency situation. In order to create this application, we first conducted market research to evaluate what applications of this sort were on the market. Furthermore, we conducted research on the American Red Cross’ standard CPR procedures for the 3 main age groups (infant, child, and adult). After developing an application on android studio with this research input, we conducted testing on CPR trained individuals, utilizing an advanced feedback providing mannequin, to evaluate whether our app makes a positive difference on the quality of CPR being delivered in an emergency situation. After conducting pre and post application testing with 7 CPR trained test subjects, it was evident that the quality of CPR has improved among our subjects. This was analyzed by measuring the duration of consistent green lights being turned on in the feedback mannequin, in addition to the number of red light flashes and yellow light flashes at specific time intervals. Further research can be conducted to analyze the significance of improvement in CPR effectiveness among the test subjects. Moreover, in future studies, a larger sample size can be used for more accurate results.
