Dear Saint Louis University students, staff, faculty, alumni, parents, and friends:
The Senior Legacy Symposium is SLU's annual celebration of undergraduate scholarly and creative work. Since 2008, this event has provided a platform for distinguished students from all majors to share their culminating academic achievements with the campus community in the form of research posters, oral presentations, artistic exhibitions, and musical/dramatic performances.
For the last two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has prevented our community of scholars from gathering in person to celebrate the work of our graduating class. In lieu of a symposium in 2020, we created a digital abstract collection so students nominated could be recognized for their scholarly and creative accomplishments at SLU. In 2021, with social distancing still dictating our campus lives, we created a more robust site to capture student accomplishments and facilitated interdisciplinary research panels via Zoom.
We are thrilled that the 2022 Senior Legacy Symposium will take place in-person. This year will feature the return of poster presentations in the Busch Student Center's Wool Ballroom from 3-5pm on Tuesday, May 3. Building on lessons learned from the Zoom panels last year, students will also have the opportunity to discuss their work with one another as part of an interdisciplinary research panel. These will take place from 3-5pm in various breakout rooms of the Busch Student Center. A full schedule is available here.
As in past years, we invited departments/programs from across the university's undergraduate schools and colleges to nominate up to three students for inclusion in this year's Symposium. Nominated students were then given the chance to share their work in multiple ways (abstract only, full artifact submission, or video submission). Below you will find over 100 projects organized by school/college and then by individual department/program.
Over the last two years, Honors Program staff and partner offices have shown incredible commitment to recognizing the scholarly and creative accomplishments of graduating seniors who have persevered through unprecedented circumstances during their time at SLU. This website is the result of that commitment, the generous cooperation of faculty from across the University, and the active participation of students who were nominated by their home departments/programs. Special thanks also goes to University Honors Program graduate assistant Ciara Fornicola for her design work bringing the site to life.
I invite you to peruse the impressive list of projects from across disciplines and to join me in celebrating this exceptional group of graduating students.
Sincerely,
Robert J. Pampel, Ph.D.
Director, University Honors Program
All projects are organized by college/school, then by individual department. Click on a school or college below to browse projects by discipline, or enter a student or project name in the search bar (upper right corner of the page).
In addition to submitting project details for the website, all nominated students were offered the opportunity to take part in a series of live discussion panels to share insights gained during their research. These panels feature a cross-section of disciplines, giving students and guests the opportunity see and appreciate the impressive range of research and scholarship our students create at SLU.

In addition to submitting project details for the website, all nominated students were offered the opportunity to present poster projects of their research. Posters will be available to view in Wool Ballroom from 3-5pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.
